Before a new therapeutic device is introduced to Australia it must undergo a lengthy mandatory registration process with TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration). The process required the scrutinizing of the devices international compliance history, safety record and various international recognised engineering and electrical standards. Finally 7 months after initiating the registration process, we are glad to announce that we have received approval to introduce Extentrac into Australia.
At Inner West Chiropractic we are now join many other manual therapist and private, rehabilitation and military hospitals around the world using Extentrac and are currently Australia’s exclusive owners and operators. A machine is only as good as its operator. This required travel to Extentrac training and research facility in Long Island, New York, to train and be assessed in the M3D certification process. M3D is the name of the treatment technique used on Extentrac. The 4 day program comprised of both theory and hands on application of the technique. During training we were lucky to observe, receive guidance and training from inventor Dr David Cuccia.
Once he deemed us competent, we patients treatment under supervision to patients of Long Island, at the same time hearing about their personal beneficial experience with Extentrac. The phrase “it improved my quality of life” come up many times.
During our training, we were lucky to meet Dr. Jim Lehman is the Director of Health Sciences Postgraduate Education at Bridgeport University, Connecticut. Here we received a guided tour of the university facilities and discussed ways to add to the current evidence based research of Extentrac.
